This descending motor tract is comprised of axons of neurons in the vestibular nuclei of the brainstem. The Vestibulospinal tract in the lateral funiculus (aka the lateral vestibulospinal tract) originates in the lateral vestibular nucleus, innervates all levels of the spinal cord, and is an uncrossed pathway. Other vestibular efferents distribute bilaterally in the anterior spinal funiculus; these are usually considered to be part of the medial longitudinal fasciculus (MLF) which is taught in the brainstem labs.
