Most of occipital cortex outside V1 is occupied by secondary and tertiary visual areas that are dependent on direct or indirect connections from V1. Most have retinotopic maps of the contralateral visual field; however, although V1 is coextensive Brodmann’s area 17, none of these higher order visual areas are identical to any of Brodmann’s other areas (18, 19 etc.). FYI: V4 is generally considered to be in the ventral stream whereas V5 (aka the visual motion area) is generally considered to be in the dorsal stream.
