The olfactory tract runs in the olfactory sulcus and contains 2nd order olfactory axons from olfactory bulb. When the olfactory tract reaches the anterior perforated substance most axons take the lateral olfactory stria to terminate in the olfactory cortex of the anterior temporal lobe. The tract also contains fibers from the anterior olfactory nuclei destined for the contralateral olfactory bulb (centrifugal fibers).
