The sublenticular part of the IC is a continuation of the posterior limb that passes under the posterior end of the Lenticular N. It contains fibers from the medial geniculate nucleus of the thalamus, which leave the IC region to form the auditory radiation (aka inferior thalamic radiation) and proceed to the primary auditory cortex in the temporal lobe.
