Neurons in the paraventricular and supraoptic nuclei send axons down the hypothalamo-hypophyseal tract of the infundibulum. These axons then release 2 hormones, oxytocin and antidiuretic hormone (ADH), into capillary plexus of the posterior pituitary (Neurohypophysis).
